National Committee for Gaza Administration: We must be granted full authority to assume our responsibilities in Gaza

SadaNews - The National Committee for Gaza Administration stated on Saturday that it cannot effectively assume its responsibilities unless it is granted the full administrative and civil authorities necessary to perform its duties, in addition to police tasks.

The committee added in a statement: Responsibility requires real empowerment that allows it to work efficiently and independently; this would open the door to serious international support for reconstruction efforts, pave the way for a complete Israeli withdrawal, and contribute to restoring daily life in a normal manner.

The committee affirmed that statements and declarations from within the sector regarding readiness to hand over the management of all institutions and public facilities in the Gaza Strip represent a step that serves the citizens' interests and paves the way for the committee to fully assume its responsibilities in managing the transitional phase.

The committee viewed the announcement of readiness for an organized transfer as a critical station to begin exercising its duties as a transitional administration for the sector, and a genuine opportunity to halt the humanitarian deterioration and preserve the resilience of the citizens who have suffered greatly over the past period.

It stated: Our current priority is to ensure the uninterrupted flow of aid, launch the reconstruction process, and create the necessary conditions to enhance the unity of our people. This path must be based on clear and specific understandings characterized by transparency, feasibility, and follow-up, in line with the twenty-point plan and Security Council Resolution 2803. We reaffirm our commitment in the committee to perform this mission with a spirit of responsibility and professional discipline, and with the highest degrees of transparency and accountability in all its actions, renewing our pledge to uphold the dignity of our people in Gaza and empower all sincere national efforts to contribute to the rebuilding.
