Turkey: American and Iranian Flexibility for a Nuclear Agreement

SadaNews - Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated that the United States and Iran are showing a willingness to find common ground that would allow for an agreement regarding the Iranian nuclear program, warning that expanding the scope of negotiations to include the ballistic missile program could lead to "another war."

In an interview with the Financial Times, Fidan indicated that Washington's willingness to tolerate Iran's uranium enrichment within clear limits is a positive development.

Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that he did not reach a final agreement with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, except for his insistence on continuing negotiations with Iran.

Trump clarified after talks that lasted about three hours in Washington that an agreement with Iran remains the "preferred option" if it can be achieved, expressing hope that Tehran would act with "greater rationality" this time.

He also noted that he discussed developments in Gaza and the region with Netanyahu, reaffirming the close ties between the United States and Israel.

For his part, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that his country would not hesitate to defend its sovereignty regardless of the cost.

Araghchi added in a post on his "X" account: "Reaching an agreement regarding our nuclear program is possible as long as it is fair and balanced."
