Netanyahu Reviews Details of Final Iran Talks
SadaNews - The office of the Israeli Prime Minister reported that Steve Biegun, the U.S. special envoy, and Jared Kushner, son-in-law of Donald Trump, provided Benjamin Netanyahu in Washington with a brief overview of the first round of negotiations that took place with Iran last Friday.
Axios reported that Netanyahu held discussions upon his arrival in Washington with Biegun and Kushner regarding the negotiations with Iran.
Netanyahu's visit to Washington comes amidst tensions regarding recent Israeli actions in the West Bank, coinciding with U.S.-Iranian negotiations concerning the nuclear file.
Netanyahu's discussions with Trump are expected to focus on security and regional issues, primarily including Iran and developments in the Palestinian territories.
The U.S. network CNN reported that Netanyahu intends to discuss potential military options against Iran with Trump during his visit to Washington, in anticipation of the possible failure of U.S.-Iranian negotiations.
CNN noted that Netanyahu will present Trump with new intelligence regarding Iran's military capabilities, especially its ballistic missile program.
According to CNN, Israel is pressing to include restrictions on ballistic missiles and Tehran's support for its proxies in any agreement.
On Tuesday, Iran's Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, warned the United States against what he described as the destructive role of Israel in the nuclear negotiations, urging Americans to remain vigilant and not allow Netanyahu to influence the framework of these discussions.
