Ahead of Netanyahu Meeting: Trump to Channel 12: Iran Will Not Acquire Nuclear Weapons or Missiles

SadaNews Translation - US President Donald Trump confirmed on Tuesday evening that he will not allow Iran to possess any nuclear weapons or missiles.

This came in an interview he conducted with Channel 12, ahead of a meeting he will have with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday.

Trump emphasized that if reaching an agreement with Iran becomes impossible, he would be prepared to take military action, as he did during the Twelve-Day War last June.

Trump stated, as translated by Sada News, that the Iranians are very eager to reach a deal, and that either we reach a deal or we will have to do something very severe and harsh, as we did last time.

He added: "Iran is very eager to make an agreement," pointing out that the recent negotiations in Oman were "completely different" from the discussions that took place before the Twelve-Day War last June, indicating that Iran is adopting a more lenient approach this time.

Trump continued, referring to his decision to attack Iranian nuclear facilities in June: "Last time, they didn't believe I would do it. They took too many risks."

He went on: "We can reach an excellent agreement with Iran, not only regarding its nuclear arsenal but also its missile program," suggesting that the anticipated meeting could take place next week.

He mentioned that he is considering sending another aircraft carrier and additional troops to the Middle East, saying: "We have a fleet there, and perhaps another fleet is on the way."

He noted that Netanyahu also wants an agreement, but he wants a good one.
