Through Rafah Crossing.. 397 Travelers Exited Gaza Over One Week
SadaNews - The Government Media Office in the Gaza Strip announced today, Tuesday, the tally of traveler movement through the Rafah land crossing during the period from Monday, February 2, to Monday, February 9.
The office clarified in a statement today, Tuesday, that the total number of travelers who were able to depart through the crossing reached 225, while 172 returned to the Gaza Strip, and 26 travelers were turned back and prevented from traveling.
On Monday, February 2, 20 travelers left, including 5 patients and 15 companions, while 12 individuals entered the Gaza Strip, including 9 women and 3 children.
On Tuesday, February 3, 40 travelers departed, comprising 16 patients and 24 companions, while the occupation authorities turned back 26 travelers and prevented them from departing, with the same day witnessing the return of 26 individuals to Gaza.
On Wednesday, February 4, 47 travelers left, including 16 patients and 31 companions, while 25 returnees arrived in the Gaza Strip.
On Thursday, February 5, 28 travelers left, including 7 patients and 21 companions, and 25 returnees entered Gaza.
On Sunday, February 8, 50 travelers left, with 19 patients and 31 companions, and 44 returnees arrived in Gaza.
On Monday, February 9, 40 travelers departed, including 20 patients and 20 companions, while 40 returnees entered Gaza.
The office indicated that the crossing experienced complete closures on Friday and Saturday (February 6 and 7), noting that the total number of travelers in both directions during this period was only 397, out of 1,600 travelers who were supposed to travel through the Rafah crossing, reflecting a compliance rate of about 25%.
