Ramallah and Al-Bireh Forces Call for Broad Participation in Popular Events in Front of the International Red Cross

SadaNews - The national and Islamic forces in the Ramallah and Al-Bireh governorate confirmed the importance of broad participation from all the events, institutions, and bodies of our people, both civil and national, in the sit-ins recently agreed to be held in front of the International Red Cross offices, scheduled for Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at 11:00 AM. This is to demand that international organizations, foremost among them the International Red Cross, fully assume their responsibilities regarding the harsh detention conditions endured by about 9,300 prisoners in the occupation's jails, amidst the increasing systematic abuse against them, brutal torture, reduced food, deliberate medical neglect, and the failure to provide the basic humanitarian needs guaranteed by international agreements for detainees, which the occupation state must respect and comply with immediately. These sit-ins are also taking place in all Palestinian governorates to demand the visitations of prisons and the dispatch of doctors to conduct medical examinations for the male and female prisoners as diseases spread and the occupying state refuses to provide them with medical treatment.

The forces also confirmed that what is happening to the Palestinian villages and towns is an extension of the open genocide against the Gaza Strip and is part of a racist, aggressive plan aimed at emptying the land of its owners. The Ramallah governorate, like other West Bank governorates including occupied Jerusalem, is witnessing a significant escalation in daily assaults by settler gangs. The villages in the eastern countryside of the governorate are just an example of what is happening throughout the governorate, including the demolition of homes, cutting down of trees, attacking citizens' homes, closing checkpoints, and strangling the essentials of daily life. This situation calls for a collective and broad effort to confront these violations and to uphold the resilience of citizens and farmers on their land. They also call for an effective and broad international will to stop the targeting of "UNRWA" and drying up its sources of funding, targeting Palestinian camps and attempts to erase the camp from the memory and narrative of the Palestinians, as a symbol of displacement and ethnic cleansing.

The forces extend their congratulations to our people as the blessed month of Ramadan approaches and call for popular solidarity and cohesion. They demand that the government and relevant authorities provide a social safety net that protects the poor and ensures a decent living amidst a suffocating crisis in the Palestinian territories, which continues to suffer from the theft of "clearance" funds, the Israeli blockade, and efforts to undermine the pillars of the Palestinian economy. They call for the broadest boycott campaigns against the products of the occupation, dates, and food items that have local alternatives or other substitutes, and to make boycotting a culture among a people under occupation still subjected to various forms of genocide and racial discrimination and the open, comprehensive war against their existence. They reaffirm that the legitimate national struggle will not stop until securing the inalienable national rights of return, self-determination, and national independence in the independent state with its capital in Jerusalem.
