Rafah Crossing Opens for the Departure of the Fourth Batch of Patients and Humanitarian Cases
SadaNews - The Rafah border crossing in southern Gaza opened this Thursday morning in both directions, allowing patients and humanitarian cases to leave and for individuals stranded to return to Gaza.
The spokesperson for the Red Crescent, Raed Al-Nims, stated in a declaration to the official agency that the fourth batch of humanitarian cases, including patients and injured individuals, has been prepared and they left towards the Rafah border crossing to travel.
Yesterday, Wednesday, the Israeli occupation authorities prevented the travel of patients and injured individuals through the Rafah crossing after informing the World Health Organization's office about the cancellation of the coordination for the departure of the third batch that was scheduled to leave for treatment.
Since its reopening last Monday, the Rafah crossing has seen only 50 patients and injured individuals leave, including their companions; on the first day, 7 patients left with their companions, and on the second day, 16 others left with their companions, despite the need for about 18,500 patients and injured individuals to receive treatment abroad.
