Ambassador Laith Arafa Discusses with German Minister Overall Political and Field Developments in Palestinian Territories

SadaNews - The Palestinian ambassador in Berlin, Laith Arafa, met with German Minister for Development and Economic Cooperation, Riem Abali Radovan, where the meeting addressed the overall political and field developments amidst the serious and ongoing escalation in the crimes committed against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem. The meeting, which was also attended by German State Minister Niels Anin, addressed the ongoing humanitarian disaster in Gaza and the continuation of killing and aggression despite the announcement of a ceasefire. Ambassador Arafa also informed the minister about the ongoing displacement of camps in the West Bank, the rising terrorism of settlers, and the dangerous expansion of settlements. He highlighted the efforts aimed at undermining the Palestinian Authority and thwarting international political efforts, including the ongoing detention and theft of Palestinian revenue funds, and the impact of this on political and economic stability. The meeting also discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations, where Ambassador Arafa expressed his appreciation for the role played by the Federal Republic of Germany, through the Ministry of Development and Economic Cooperation, in supporting development programs and providing humanitarian aid, expressing his hope to develop the political position to reflect commitment to international law and recognition of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among them the recognition of the State of Palestine.
