Netanyahu to Meet Witkoff and Kushner Tomorrow to Discuss the Second Phase in Gaza
SadaNews - Channel 12 reported this evening, Friday, January 23, 2026, citing Israeli officials, that the Security Cabinet (cabinet) will hold a meeting next Sunday, focusing primarily on the developments in the Gaza Strip.
The channel mentioned that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to meet tomorrow evening, Saturday, in Jerusalem, with American envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to discuss efforts to recover the body of Ron Goyli (the last one in the Gaza Strip), in addition to discussing the second phase of the political and security process, which includes dismantling Hamas and disarming it, according to the report.
On its part, the Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth stated that the meetings are expected to address the issue of opening the Rafah crossing and beginning the reconstruction of Gaza.
The newspaper added, "The Americans are requesting Israel to open the crossing even before the recovery of Goyli's body, and they are promising Israel to guarantee maximum efforts to locate him."
