SadaNews Clarifies the Truth About a Report Attributed to the Washington Institute Regarding the Future of the Palestinian Authority
SadaNews: After SadaNews contacted technical experts, it became clear that the American report circulating today, Thursday, regarding the future of the Palestinian Authority, which seemed to have been issued by the official website of the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, was actually published through a counterfeit site that mimics the name and design of the original site. Therefore, the Institute has no connection to it.
Following the inspection and audit conducted by SadaNews, it was found that the original and counterfeit websites closely resemble each other in name, design, and visual details, making it extremely difficult to distinguish between them. However, technical experts managed to identify a small difference in the website's URL, clearly indicating that one is counterfeit while the other is the reliable official site.

Accordingly, SadaNews announces the retraction of the report published this morning based on the information from that counterfeit site.
It is worth noting that the Washington Institute, established in 1985, is one of the most influential think tanks in shaping policies related to the Middle East, holding significant weight with senior officials and decision-makers, not only in the United States but also in many countries around the world.
SadaNews had reached out to diplomatic sources for comments on the report—before it was revealed to be counterfeit—which indicated that the content does not necessarily reflect the current official stance of American foreign policy. However, decision-makers in Washington continually review such studies and may consider their implications or disregard them based on political circumstances.
