Engineer Detained for Impersonating a Dermatologist in Egypt
SadaNews - Egyptian authorities announced the detention of an engineer who impersonated a dermatologist, and a dentist who impersonated a cosmetic surgeon, during an inspection campaign on several beauty centers in Port Said Governorate.
The Department of Free Treatment at the Health Affairs Directorate in Port Said Governorate stated that the campaign resulted in serious violations, including practicing the profession without a license, and seizing a large quantity of unlicensed and expired medications and injections, in addition to discovering an unlicensed beauty center.
The Department of Free Treatment confirmed the continuation of intensive monitoring campaigns on beauty centers and private medical establishments, and urged citizens to ensure that they receive medical services within licensed facilities, emphasizing the necessity of having the Free Treatment Management's license displayed clearly in the establishment to protect the health and safety of citizens.
A few weeks ago, the Egyptian Ministry of Health closed a beauty clinic on Alamza Street in Heliopolis for operating without a license and violating health conditions, as well as promoting cosmetic procedures and injections, where it was discovered that the clinic's manager was a fake doctor with a law degree impersonating a cosmetic surgeon. Contraband pharmaceutical products that violate the Pharmacy Practice Law and the regulations of the Egyptian Drug Authority were also found inside the clinic.
