Amid Stifling Crises.. The Jordanian Interior Minister Inspects Travel Conditions at King Hussein Bridge
SadaNews - Amid an unprecedented crisis faced by Palestinian travelers, Jordan's Interior Minister Mazen Al-Farrayah visited the King Hussein Bridge to review the procedures in place and the level of services provided to travelers, in an attempt to contain the congestion and overcrowding that has plagued the area for days.
This visit comes while a large number of Palestinians remain stranded in Jordan, unable to enter the West Bank due to the limited operating hours of the crossing coinciding with the return of pilgrims, exacerbating the crisis and leading to difficult humanitarian scenes.
Travelers described their suffering as humiliating and degrading, as many were forced to wait for hours at the closed gates, while others returned to Jordan helpless, amidst a scene that reflects the magnitude of daily suffering.
There are increasing local, Arab, and international calls to exert pressure on Israel to open the crossing around the clock and end the policy of movement restrictions to specific hours, ensuring the freedom of movement for Palestinians and putting an end to their ongoing suffering.
