SadaNews - The name of Ali Shath has emerged as one of the Palestinian figures proposed to assume the presidency of a proposed technocratic committee to manage the Gaza Strip, according to the American newspaper "The New York Times" on Tuesday evening.
The technocratic committee is one of the items in U.S. President Donald Trump's plan for the administration of the Gaza Strip, following a genocide war waged against it by Israel with American support on October 8, 2023, lasting two years.
Who is Ali Shath?
Ali Shath was born in Khan Younis in the Gaza Strip in 1958.
He left the Strip for Cairo to study and graduated from the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University, holding a PhD in Engineering.
He currently resides in the occupied West Bank.
He has extensive experience in planning, economic development, and reconstruction, combining government work, executive management, and developmental consulting throughout his career.
In 1989, Shath obtained a PhD in Civil Engineering from Queen's University in Belfast, UK, focusing his studies on infrastructure planning and urban development, areas that have been the core of his professional work.

Assistant Undersecretary at the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation since 1995, contributing to the preparation of development policies and cooperation programs with international donor entities.
Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport and Communications for several years, participating in the strategic planning of infrastructure and transport projects.
Chief Executive Officer of the Palestinian Industrial Estates and Free Zones Authority (PIEFZA), where he played a pivotal role in developing Palestinian industrial cities and zones, and participated in signing cooperation agreements with academic institutions and international bodies to support the industrial sector.
He worked as a governmental and academic advisor and international project manager in the fields of economic development and infrastructure.
Shath is also known for his expertise in economic development, infrastructure planning, reconstruction policies in post-conflict areas, industrial policies, and cross-border economic integration.
