SadaNews - The Arab-Indian Business Council, chaired by Palestinian businessman Basil Baradaie and his deputy Jihan Al-Sharif, along with the council's team, actively participated in the global food exhibition "Inds Food 2026" in India, held from January 8 to 10 in the exhibition area of Noida city. This exhibition is considered one of the most prominent specialized fairs in the food and beverage industry across the Asian continent.
Hundreds of companies from various food sectors from India, the Arab world, and a number of foreign companies participated in the exhibition.
This exhibition is organized by the Ministry of Food Industries to encourage trade exchange between India and the world.
Basil Baradaie, born in the village of Surif in the Hebron governorate, is considered one of the distinguished Arab entrepreneurs in India, where he has lived for nearly thirty years, establishing a range of leading companies in the fields of trade and business, in partnership with his deputy Jihan Al-Sharif, who has Tunisian origins.
Together, they contributed to the establishment of the "Arab-Indian Business Council" to promote trade exchange between India and the Arab world.
During the events of the "Inds Food 2026" exhibition, the council's delegation sought to strengthen economic cooperation between India and Arab countries in the fields of food, agriculture, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), and related sectors by organizing several bilateral meetings between Indian exporters on one side and importers, distributors, and investors from the Arab world on the other.
These meetings focused on spice products, grains, legumes, cooking oils, processed foods, beverages, and organic products.
The council's president, Basil Baradaie, emphasized the pivotal role of the Arab-Indian Business Council in enhancing food trade between India and Arab countries, encouraging partnerships in food manufacturing, packaging, and supply chains, in addition to supporting quality standards and halal products to meet the requirements of Arab and Islamic markets.
For her part, Vice President Jihan Al-Sharif stressed the importance of enhancing the participation of Arab buyers and investors in food and agricultural projects in India, opening new avenues for Indian companies to enter the retail and hospitality markets in Arab countries, with a special focus on supporting women entrepreneurs and startups in this vital sector.
The Arab-Indian Business Council intends to build on the positive results achieved during the "Inds Food 2026" exhibition through a comprehensive vision to be implemented in the next phase.
In line with promoting this trend, the Arab-Indian Business Council signed a joint cooperation agreement with the "Trade Promotion Council of India" (TPCI), which stipulates collaboration in promoting trade and investment between India and the Arab world, and coordinating efforts to organize events, exhibitions, and informative programs aimed at raising awareness of the available opportunities in the markets of both sides.
Basil Baradaie stated that developing trade relations between India and Palestine will also be a priority in the council's activities by building on the strong bilateral relationship between the two countries, in which India has always been a supporter of Palestine.
He called on businessmen and representatives of the private economic sectors to participate in trade exhibitions organized by India and to encourage and expand trade exchange between the two countries for its economic importance to both sides.
