Venezuela.. Death Toll Rises to 3,685
SadaNews - The number of victims in Venezuela has risen to 3,685 due to the earthquakes that struck the country on June 24, according to a statement by the President of the Venezuelan National Assembly, Jorge Rodriguez, on Wednesday regarding the latest statistics.
Rodriguez clarified that the death toll has reached 3,685, while the number of injured individuals stands at 16,740 as a result of the earthquakes that hit Venezuela, with the first registering a magnitude of 7.2 and the second a magnitude of 7.5 on the Richter scale.
Two days after the earthquakes, the United Nations Development Programme announced that the cost of the direct material damages caused by the disaster is estimated at about $6.7 billion.
Search and rescue operations continue in the country, although hopes of finding survivors are dwindling.
