National Economy: Referral of 6 Violators to Prosecution and Seizure of 76 Tons of Violative Materials Last June
SadaNews - The Ministry of National Economy referred 6 violators to the Public Prosecution for combating economic crimes during the month of June, to complete legal procedures against them, as part of its ongoing efforts to enforce the law, protect consumers, and ensure the safety of goods traded in the markets.
According to the report of the achievements of the General Directorate of Consumer Protection for the month of June, consumer protection teams, in cooperation with partner entities, conducted 354 inspection rounds covering 2311 shops and commercial establishments in various governorates. During these rounds, they dealt with 97 complaints submitted by citizens and withdrew 30 samples of goods for laboratory testing.
Teams seized 76.75 tons of violative materials, including expired items and others that did not comply with mandatory technical specifications. They took the necessary legal actions regarding these materials, and issued 121 commitments and legal notices to violators to rectify their legal status.
