Lapid Accuses Russia and Iran of Trying to Influence Israeli Elections
SadaNews Translation - Israel's opposition leader Yair Lapid accused Russia and Iran on Wednesday of attempting to influence Israeli public opinion ahead of the elections.
This was stated in a speech he delivered before the Israeli Knesset, with excerpts reported by Channel 12.
According to Lapid, as translated by SadaNews, they want to divide us, to strengthen the extremists, to weaken the moderates, and to spread chaos and hatred.
He added: We must face this together, all of us, both sides of this council, everyone who believes that Israelis are not enemies but family.
He continued: The "Shabak", the National Security Council, and the Central Elections Committee must demand this week the establishment of a comprehensive body, endowed with authority and budget, that receives full powers to protect the electoral process under the supervision of all blocs, whether government or opposition.
