Civil Organizations: The West Bank is a Ravaged Land and the Annexation Plan Completely Consumes It in Favor of the Colonial Project

SadaNews - The Palestinian Network of Civil Organizations calls upon the United Nations and the relevant international human rights and peace institutions, as well as all international parties, parliaments, humanitarian and rights movements and organizations, to intervene urgently and immediately to stop the oppression and crimes perpetrated by the Israeli occupation government against the Palestinian people in the occupied territories, as it insists on committing more heinous acts that are expanding daily.

From the standpoint of bearing full responsibility, international institutions must respond to the ongoing acts of genocide and ethnic cleansing by the occupation army and settler gangs. As the world enters a new year, celebrating peace, security, and a decent life with hopes of ending destruction and wars, and ending the cycle of daily murder and exploitation, we reaffirm that international will is required today more than ever. We remind the world that the Palestinian territories are completely ravaged. While the world celebrates, we would like to remind everyone that around 300,000 martyrs and wounded have fallen in the Gaza Strip, and over one and a half million Gazans are without shelter, while hospitals have halted surgeries due to a shortage of medical supplies, amid acute shortages of food and humanitarian aid due to the occupation forces' prevention of their entry. The situation in the West Bank and Jerusalem is no less critical; as we briefly note, the occupation's decision to build 19 settlements is part of a systematic process aimed at emptying the land and ethnically cleansing it. This is part of the ongoing annexation plan, which has established 114 new settlement outposts during two years of genocide and legalized 30 other outposts. Over the past three years, 69 settlements have been established, returning to evacuated settlements in the northern West Bank and unleashing settlers who have committed brutal assaults across wide areas in the West Bank, resulting in hundreds of martyrs and injuries, alongside the destruction and burning of homes, mosques, and trees as they continue their comprehensive war to end the Palestinian existence.

We demand that the Secretary-General and international bodies take serious, tangible, and effective action to put an end to the Israeli disregard for the simplest laws and international charters that stipulate the protection of unarmed civilians, as well as to save the lives of vulnerable groups and ensure protection. Measures capable of achieving this should be taken alongside efforts to hold the occupying power accountable for its escalating violations in the occupied Palestinian territories. There must be provisions for the prosecution of the occupation as a pathway to its termination and the realization of the legitimate national rights guaranteed by international legitimacy and principles of international law, chiefly self-determination and independence. Without this, double standards will only serve as a new green light encouraging the occupation. The credibility of international bodies is measured by their proximity or distance from tangible, binding decisions to halt the ongoing cycle of daily murder, destruction, and forced displacement. We urge living peoples, global movements, and international solidarity committees to continue and expand popular actions against genocide and uprooting, and to pressure governments to take serious positions to contribute to alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people and to protect women, children, and the elderly from the occupation's targeting, which spreads death everywhere on our land.
