Video: Libyan Chief of Staff killed in plane crash after takeoff from Turkey

SadaNews - Turkish sources confirmed that the plane carrying the Chief of Staff of the Libyan Army, Mohammed al-Haddad, crashed, killing everyone on board.

Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya stated that radio contact with the plane carrying the Chief of Staff of the Libyan Army and four others was lost. The plane was en route from Ankara to Tripoli and had requested an emergency landing in the Ankara area, but communication was lost afterward.

The minister said on the platform "X": "Contact was lost at 20:52 (17:52 GMT) this evening with the private Falcon 50 aircraft, registration number 9H-DFJ, which took off from Ankara Esenboğa Airport at 20:10 heading to Tripoli."
He added that "an emergency landing request was made from the vicinity of the Haymana area, but contact with the plane could not be established afterward," explaining that "the plane was carrying five people, including the Chief of Staff of the Libyan Armed Forces, General Mohammed Ali Ahmed al-Haddad."

Shortly before this, the Turkish channel "NTV" reported today (Tuesday) about the loss of radio communication signal for a private plane believed to be carrying the Chief of Staff of the Libyan Army, Mohammed Ali Ahmed al-Haddad, over the Turkish capital, Ankara, and that flight tracking data indicated a diversion of flight paths away from Esenboğa Airport in Ankara.

According to "Reuters", the Turkish Ministry of Defense announced earlier this week about a visit of the Libyan Chief of Staff to Ankara, indicating that he met with his Turkish counterpart and several military leaders.
