Ramallah Police Arrest 'Hacker Palestine'
SadaNews - The media spokesperson for the police, Major Louay Arzeqat, stated that a force from the General Investigations Department, along with the Anti-Narcotics Department, supported by a special police force and security agencies, carried out a specialized operation that led to the arrest of a suspect in fraud who called himself "Hacker Palestine". He had taken a location in the northern part of Ramallah as his hideout and was wanted by the judiciary for more than 5 years, as well as being sought by police in multiple governorates for cases related to cyber extortion and more. The force seized dozens of SIM cards and mobile devices that he used to trap his victims.
Major Arzeqat confirmed that the arrested individual has been detained to be referred to the public prosecution to take legal action against him.
He urged citizens not to approach those who claim to be hackers and can solve electronic issues, emphasizing that the safest way is to contact the Cyber Crime Division, which addresses cases with confidentiality and professionalism, managing to solve and complete 67% of the total cases it received since the beginning of the year.
He called on all citizens who have been victims of fraud or extortion by him or have paid him money to approach the police to complete the legal procedures, assuring them of complete confidentiality and the protection of the rights of the complainants.
