Journalists Syndicate: 57 Violations Against Palestinian Journalists During November 2025

SadaNews - Data from the Press Freedom Committee of the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate revealed that 57 violations and abuses were committed by Israeli occupation forces and settlers against journalists during November 2025, reflecting the ongoing systematic escalation against media teams and hindering them from fulfilling their professional duties.

The Press Freedom Committee stated in its monthly report that the violations were categorized into serious patterns targeting journalistic work and exposing journalists to direct danger, indicating that settlers played a pivotal role in executing severe assaults in various areas of the West Bank.

Details of Violations

Injuries from Gunfire: 2 Cases

Two journalists were injured from metal and live ammunition during field coverage, one in Tulkarm and the other in Gaza.
Serious assaults by settlers (22 Cases)

These assaults included:
preventing coverage, chasing, beating with sticks, throwing stones, and brandishing weapons in front of journalists, especially during the olive picking season in Hebron and Nablus.

Detention of Individuals and Journalistic Teams and Preventing Them from Working: 16 Cases

Occupation soldiers detained journalists for long hours and prevented them from reporting in various areas, most notably Al-Jab'a, Bethlehem, Masafer Yatta, Beit Oula, Hebron, and Beita.

Direct Beating: 6 Cases

Journalists were beaten by occupation soldiers or settlers during field coverage.
Seizure of Equipment and Deletion of Materials: 4 Cases

Cameras and journalistic equipment were confiscated, and journalists were forced to delete photos and documents from their phones and cameras.

Brandishing Weapons Directly in Front of Journalists: 2 Cases

Occupation soldiers brandished rifles and issued direct threats to prevent journalists from covering events, particularly in Hebron and Beit Ummar.

Destruction and Detention of Vehicles: 2 Cases

Settlers destroyed press vehicles and detained some during coverage in Hebron and Beit Oula.
Arrest of One Journalist

Photographer Hisham Abu Shaqra was arrested while working in Huwara.

Breaking into a Journalist's House: 1 Case

Occupation forces raided the house of journalist Ehab Al-Alami in Beit Ummar.

Presentation of a Journalist to Court: 1 Case
The occupation court sentenced journalist Ramez Awad to two years in prison.

Chairman of the Press Freedom Committee, Muhammad Al-Laham, confirmed that these figures "reflect a clear approach to silence Palestinian journalists and deter them from performing their professional duty to expose the crimes of the occupation," indicating that the assaults were not limited to prevention and detention but extended to severe physical assaults and direct gunfire.

Al-Laham added that the Journalists Syndicate demands intensified international pressure on the occupation to stop daily assaults against media personnel and to provide international protection for Palestinian journalists in the field, especially with the increasing violence exercised by settlers under the protection of the army.
