Iraq Classifies Hezbollah and Houthis as "Terrorist" Organizations and Freezes Their Financial Assets
SadaNews: Iraq has decided to freeze the movable and immovable assets of the Lebanese "Hezbollah" and the "Ansar Allah - Houthis" movement for their involvement in "committing a terrorist act," according to what was published by the official Iraqi newspaper "Al-Waqa'i."
The Iraqi paper published a decision issued by the "Committee for Freezing Terrorists' Assets" numbered (61) dated 2025/10/28, which states "to freeze the assets of terrorists" of 24 entities classified as terrorist organizations, among them:
Number 18: Hezbollah, Lebanon .. Charge: "involvement in committing a terrorist act."
Number 19: Houthis, (Ansar Allah), Yemen .. Charge: "involvement in committing a terrorist act."
The decision was issued based on the report presented by the "Office of Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing" on March 19, 2025, and pursuant to the provisions of the "Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing Law" (39 of the year 2015) and the provisions of Article (10/Third) of the "Terrorists' Assets Freezing System."
The decision taken by the committee in its meeting on (October 22, 2025) stated: "to freeze the movable and immovable assets and economic resources belonging to the individuals and Malaysian entities."
