Cairo: The Rafah Crossing will only be opened according to a comprehensive agreement for entry and exit
SadaNews: The Egyptian General Authority for Information, through a responsible source, denied what some Israeli media outlets reported regarding coordination to open the Rafah crossing in the coming days for the exit of residents from the Gaza Strip.
The source confirmed that this news is not true, emphasizing that any decision to open the crossing will be linked to an agreement among the concerned parties, and that crossing will occur in both directions, for entry and exit from the sector, according to what was stated in the plan of U.S. President Donald Trump.
In contrast, the Coordinator of the Occupation Government clarified that the crossing will be designated solely for the exit of residents towards Egyptian territory, in coordination with the Egyptian authorities and after obtaining security approval from the Israeli side, according to what Israeli media reported.
The statement indicated that the exit process will take place under the supervision of a European Union mission, following the same mechanism that was employed at the beginning of January 2025, ensuring organized and jointly monitored crossing movements between the concerned parties.
It is noteworthy that the Israeli occupation army announced on May 7, 2024, its control over the Rafah land crossing, which connects the Gaza Strip with Egypt, following extensive military operations around the crossing.
