Jordan: Two wanted men killed and 3 security personnel injured during a raid in Ramtha city
SadaNews - The Jordanian Public Security Directorate announced early Wednesday morning the killing of two wanted men and the injury of three security personnel during a raid in the Ramtha district in the north of the country. Jordanian media reported that calm has returned to the city following the conclusion of the operation, with continued limited security deployment to ensure stability and prevent any disturbance of security.
A statement issued by the directorate indicated that "a special security force raided a location in the Ramtha district on Tuesday evening, which was harboring two wanted brothers with extremist ideologies due to significant investigative issues."
The directorate noted that as soon as the security force arrived at the site, the wanted individuals opened fire heavily on them, leading to the injury of three members of the raiding force who were taken to the hospital for treatment. It stated that "rules of engagement were implemented and the wanted individuals, who had fortified themselves in the location, were killed."
It added that they used their mother inside the premises as a human shield to prevent targeting them, and the security force was able to neutralize their mother and move her away without causing any harm to her.
It clarified that the site where the wanted individuals were holed up was searched, resulting in the seizure of a number of firearms and ammunition.
