Termination of the Palestinian Ambassador to Albania, Wissam Mahna, Effective December 1

SadaNews - The Palestinian Ambassador to the Republic of Albania, Wissam Mahna, son of the former Director General of Crossings, Nazmi Mahna, announced the end of his official duties at the embassy effective December 1, 2025, according to a decision issued without an official explanation for the reasons, although he indicated that it may be related to personal matters concerning his father, Nazmi Mahna. Ambassador Mahna emphasized in a farewell letter addressed to the embassy staff and official institution members that his six-month tenure was filled with diligence and challenges, stressing that he performed his duties "with the highest levels of professionalism and responsibility, and with utmost sincerity and commitment." He expressed pride in what he achieved during his time in Albania, considering his departure "not the end of the road, but the beginning of a new stage." Mahna expressed his gratitude and appreciation to his colleagues in the diplomatic corps and all the employees he worked alongside, affirming that their support and cooperation greatly impacted his professional and humanitarian journey. He stated that he leaves his position "with his head held high," confident that what he contributed will remain a testament to his effort and sincerity. In the conclusion of his letter, Ambassador Mahna wished continued success and prosperity to his colleagues in serving the Palestinian cause, apologizing for any unintended shortcomings, and emphasizing that "whatever good they have found is from and to them." At the beginning of October, the specialized court for corruption crimes, at the request of the Chief Prosecutor of Corruption, decided to summon the former Director General of the Palestinian Authority for Crossings and Borders, Nazmi Mahna, for investigation in cases related to the smuggling of artifacts and financial and administrative corruption.
