After the Security Council Decision.. Britain Calls for Increased Humanitarian Aid to Gaza
SadaNews: British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper has called for a significant increase in humanitarian aid to Gaza, after the United Kingdom supported a resolution in the UN Security Council to implement a 20-point peace plan for the region.
The resolution endorses the ceasefire plan proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump, which permits the establishment of an international force to stabilize and provide security in the sector, and also calls for the formation of a peace council as a new transitional authority headed by Trump.
Cooper stated that the resolution "also emphasizes the importance of increasing humanitarian aid that Gaza still desperately needs."
She added, "We must take urgent action now to open all crossing points, lift restrictions, and flood Gaza with aid. We must also continue to make progress towards a two-state solution that achieves peace and security for Israelis and Palestinians side by side."
