Yedioth Ahronoth: Qatar, Turkey, and Other Countries Refuse to Receive Hamas Members in Rafah Tunnels
Translation by SadaNews - An Israeli minister in the security cabinet said Tuesday evening that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reached an agreement with U.S. envoy Jared Kushner regarding the safe exit of Hamas members from the Rafah tunnels.
According to a report by Yedioth Ahronoth, quoting an unnamed minister, the terms of the agreement allow Hamas members to exit the tunnels safely and relocate to a third country.
The agreement stipulates that Israel will allow the safe transfer of Hamas members, but no country, including Turkey and Qatar, has agreed so far to receive them.
Netanyahu's office refused to comment on this matter.
Israeli estimates indicate that there are 200 armed Hamas members in the Rafah tunnels, while Palestinian sources estimate their number to be around 60.
Recently, Israeli Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir recommended working towards killing them or forcing them to surrender and transferring them for interrogation.
