Houthis: Arrest of a Spy Network Linked to Israel and the US in Sanaa

SadaNews - The Houthis announced on Saturday the arrest of a spy network working for the United States and Israel; according to what was announced by their Ministry of Interior following the assassination of their Prime Minister Ahmed Ghaleb al-Rahawi along with the Chief of Staff and several ministers as a result of an Israeli attack on the capital, Sanaa.

The Houthi Ministry of Interior stated that it "managed to arrest a spy network that follows a joint operations room between the American intelligence, the Israeli Mossad, and the Saudi intelligence."

It added that "this qualitative security achievement was accomplished after operations of movement, monitoring, and follow-up revealed the enemy's plans and the working methods of the treacherous elements."

The Houthi Ministry of Interior indicated that "the spy cells were engaged in collecting information and monitoring the civil leadership of the state (the Houthi government), military and security leaderships, their headquarters, and their activities."

It continued, "These cells monitored the Yemeni infrastructure and attempted to uncover the military and security structures, military manufacturing locations, and missile and drone launch sites."

It also clarified that "the network was involved in shedding the blood of Yemeni civilians in several operations launched by the American and Israeli enemy against homes, markets, and public places," noting that "this came in the context of escalating aggression against Yemen to attempt to stop support for Gaza."

The Houthis had previously announced the dismantlement of similar networks, the latest being in May 2024, through revealing a network of "spies" in Yemen, working for the United States and Israel.

The Houthis have attacked Israel over the past two years with ballistic missiles and drones, and have targeted ships belonging to Tel Aviv or heading there, particularly in the Red Sea, in what they termed "support for Gaza"; in response, Israel has launched numerous attacks targeting several areas in Yemen, including the capital, Sanaa.
