Civil Organizations: Condemn the Storming of the Gaza Mental Health Program Headquarters in Gaza City and the Occupation of Its Facilities
SadaNews - The Palestinian Network of Civil Organizations strongly condemns the storming of the headquarters and clinics of the Gaza Mental Health Program in Gaza City by an armed group several days ago, forcibly taking control of the premises and preventing the program's staff from performing their work in receiving and treating patients.
The network expresses its grave concern regarding this assault and its serious implications for the reality of patients and their access to treatment amidst the humanitarian disaster faced by our people, given the health services provided by the program to thousands of patients and clients.
The network asserts that this assault represents a major setback for the work of civil organizations, especially the Gaza Mental Health Program, which has operated for decades, particularly during the last two years of the genocide committed in the Gaza Strip, to provide its services to our people.
The network calls on the relevant authorities to act swiftly and take responsibility to ensure the immediate evacuation of this group from the program's headquarters and to protect the premises and resources of civil organizations.
It also urges all sectors of our people to work towards pressing for the immediate evacuation of the premises and to ensure that such incidents that are contrary to our people's customs and values do not recur, as they hinder the work of our health and humanitarian organizations.
