Ambassador Laith Arafa to the Leadership of the Green Party: Recognizing the State of Palestine Offers You the Opportunity to Correct Past Mistakes
SadaNews - His Excellency, Ambassador Laith Arafa, met with the head and leadership of the Green Party bloc in the German Parliament (Bundestag), where the latest political and field developments in Palestine were discussed during the meeting.
During the meeting, Ambassador Arafa urged the party bloc to adopt the petition submitted by more than 64 out of 85 members of the bloc, which calls for the party to pass a resolution calling for the immediate recognition of the State of Palestine.
The discussion also addressed the hesitance among some party leaders regarding this position, where Ambassador Arafa emphasized that recognizing the State of Palestine represents a real opportunity for the party to correct past mistakes. He asserted that those who delay in recognition do not affect Palestine's status but rather weaken their own moral and political standing.
In this context, Ambassador Arafa expressed deep gratitude and appreciation for the widespread solidarity demonstrated within movements calling for significant support for the rights of the Palestinian people, and for the increasing calls to take practical steps to end the Israeli occupation, allowing the Palestinian people to obtain their legitimate rights, foremost among them being the recognition of the State of Palestine.
