In Cooperation Between the Embassies of Palestine, Saudi Arabia, and France in Hungary: An Important Event on the Recognition of the State of Palestine
SadaNews - At the initiative of the Embassy of the State of Palestine in Hungary, and in cooperation with the embassies of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the French Republic, the French ambassador hosted an official event today, Thursday, to mark the recognitions of the State of Palestine, which has reached 159 countries out of 193, following the international conference in New York last July to support Palestinian rights.
Over 35 diplomatic missions were present at the event, with ambassadors and high-ranking diplomats emphasizing in their speeches the importance of recognizing the State of Palestine as a fundamental step to affirm the Palestinian people's right to establish their state and their right to self-determination.
The Palestinian Ambassador to Hungary, Dr. Fadi Al-Husseini, stated in his speech that the significance of this occasion lies not only in the results of the New York conference but in embodying the hope that recognizing the State of Palestine represents the cornerstone for stability and peace in the region. He noted the ethical commitment of a nation still struggling for independence and realizing the right to self-determination. Al-Husseini expressed his gratitude to the countries that supported the Palestinian people and contributed to reaching a ceasefire, stressing that the recognition of the State of Palestine reflects the moral compass of countries that believe in justice and human rights. At the end of his speech, he thanked the French embassy for hosting this event.
For his part, the French ambassador in Budapest, Jonathan Lacote, confirmed that the celebration is the result of joint efforts between France and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, pointing out that France's recognition of the State of Palestine expresses its historical commitment to a two-state solution and respect for the Palestinian people's right to self-determination.
The Saudi ambassador to Hungary, Majid Al-Abdan, stated that the recognition of the State of Palestine expresses the solidarity of countries and their affirmation of the Palestinians' legal and historical right to establish their independent state on the 1967 borders in line with the Arab Peace Initiative and UN resolutions. He confirmed that this initiative serves to remind of the necessity for coordination and serious efforts to achieve the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
The speakers welcomed the announcement of the ceasefire this morning, hoping that this would end the suffering of our people in the Gaza Strip and that this agreement would serve as the first step towards ending the Israeli occupation and realizing the Palestinian state on the ground, in line with international legitimacy.
