Palestinian Swedish Center: Stopping the War is the Beginning of the Road to Ending the Tragedy in Gaza
SadaNews - The Palestinian Swedish Center welcomed the decision to stop the war on the Gaza Strip, considering it a necessary step towards ending the suffering of the Palestinian people and stopping the bloodshed that has continued for two full years.
The center confirmed in a statement that this decision should constitute a real entry point for a serious political process that ensures lifting the blockade imposed on the sector, rebuilding what has been destroyed by the war machine, in addition to ensuring accountability for the crimes and violations committed against the Palestinian people.
The center's president, Mr. Ahmad Suleiman, stated that stopping the war does not mean the end of the tragedy, but represents the beginning of the road to justice and freedom, emphasizing the necessity for the international community to fully assume its responsibilities in protecting civilians and ensuring that the humanitarian catastrophe experienced by the Gaza Strip does not happen again.
The center renewed its call to all European countries and the international community to continue their support for the Palestinian right to self-determination and full recognition of the State of Palestine on the 1967 borders with its capital in Jerusalem.
