Gaza Enters Its Third Year of War.. Sharm El-Sheikh Negotiations Continue and the Fate Remains Unclear

SadaNews - The Gaza war enters its third year today, Tuesday (October 7, 2025), amidst ongoing humanitarian suffering and worsening ground conditions. After more than two years of continued military escalation, the region still witnesses extensive destruction and mass displacement in the absence of any political horizon for a solution. While negotiations are currently ongoing in the Egyptian city of Sharm El-Sheikh, their fate remains uncertain, and uncertainty looms over the future of Gaza's residents who face dire conditions day by day.

Early today, Israeli occupation forces carried out air and artillery strikes on the city of Gaza, targeting displaced persons in Khan Younis in the southern sector.

Media outlets reported that occupation aircraft launched airstrikes early today on several areas in the city of Gaza.

Sources indicated that the western neighborhoods of the city were subjected to airstrikes and gunfire from "Quadcopter" drones.

Additionally, a girl was injured by the gunfire of occupation forces in the Shalihat area west of Gaza City.

Palestinian sources reported that the airstrikes were accompanied by artillery shelling on the southern, eastern, and northern areas of the city.

The occupation's artillery also targeted the Shuja'iyya neighborhood and other areas east of Gaza City.

Simultaneously, the occupation forces demolished more homes using vehicles loaded with explosives in the Sabra neighborhood south of the city.

The bombing and destruction of Gaza's neighborhoods continue despite the relative decrease in the pace of airstrikes in the past few days, coinciding with efforts aimed at concluding an agreement to end the war that has been ongoing in the sector for two years.

Recently, Israeli tanks have advanced further into the northern, western, and southern neighborhoods of Gaza, moving closer to the city center, as part of a new offensive that began weeks ago under the second phase of the Gideon Convoys operation.
