Hamas Leader: Our Response to Trump's Plan Will Not Be Delayed and We Do Not Accept Threats
Sada News - Mohammad Nazal, a member of the Political Bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), stated that the movement will announce "very soon" its position on the U.S. plan publicly, affirming its seriousness in reaching understandings aimed at stopping the war and genocide in the Gaza Strip. Nazal explained during an intervention with Al Jazeera that Hamas's response "will not be delayed" and will take into consideration the interests of the Palestinian people, fundamental and strategic constants, and political considerations, emphasizing that it would not allow the continuation of genocide. He stressed that the movement does not operate from nihilistic premises, but it "does not accept the logic of threats, impositions, and pressures that are wielded like the sword of time." He reiterated Hamas's commitment to reaching agreements based on "time is blood," and its eagerness to stop the massacres and collective slaughter before entering its third year. According to Nazal, Hamas received last Monday evening the plan "attributed to U.S. President Donald Trump," stating that it has many observations but the movement is looking for gray areas to stop the genocide in Gaza. He affirmed that it cannot be the end to compromise the rights of the Palestinian people after all these sacrifices, pointing out that Hamas has the right to express observations that fulfill the interests of Palestinians and that it accepts the logic of dialogue and discussion. Nazal revealed that Hamas has begun internal and external consultations on the second day after receiving the plan, as it continues in this regard with mediators and Arab and Islamic parties. Earlier on Thursday, the White House stated that President Trump is awaiting Hamas's response to his plan to stop the war in Gaza, while a White House official told Fox News that the plan to stop the war in Gaza is acceptable "and we expect Hamas to accept it so that we can move forward towards a more peaceful Middle East." The White House had issued on September 29, 2025, a detailed plan calling for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, followed by a comprehensive program for reconstruction and reorganization of the political and security situation in the sector. The plan seeks to transform Gaza into a "weapon-free zone," providing a transitional governance mechanism with international and regional guarantees, under the direct supervision of the U.S. president over a new international body concerned with monitoring implementation. The plan includes the release of all Israeli prisoners held by Hamas within 72 hours of its approval, in exchange for the release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners from occupation prisons. It also stipulates the cessation of fighting, disarmament of the Palestinian resistance, and Israel's gradual withdrawal from the sector, to be governed by a technocratic authority under the supervision of an international body led by the U.S. president. Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with U.S. support, has been waging a genocidal war in Gaza, which has so far resulted in the martyrdom of over 66,000 Palestinians and the injury of about 169,000, most of whom are children and women, alongside a famine that has claimed the lives of 455 people, including 151 children.
