Qatar: We Delivered Hamas a Plan to End the Gaza War and They Promised to Study It
SadaNews: The spokesperson for the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Majid Al-Ansari, confirmed that his country, in cooperation with Egypt, delivered a comprehensive plan to Hamas aimed at ending the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip, noting that the Hamas negotiating delegation promised to study the plan, but it is still early to receive an official response.
Al-Ansari explained in press statements that Qatar "greatly appreciates the U.S. commitment to ending the war in Gaza," emphasizing that the main goal of Doha is to "stop the war and end the starvation experienced by the residents of the sector." He added: "From day one, Qatar has committed to working to end the war, delivering humanitarian aid, and halting military escalation."
He indicated that Qatari efforts have not been delayed at any stage, and that coordination with Egypt and Turkey is conducted collectively and in a coordinated manner, aiming to reach a comprehensive solution that stops the war and establishes a phase of reconstruction. He also affirmed that Qatar is "firm in its commitment to providing any possible support to stop the war and rebuild Gaza."
Regarding the recent Israeli bombardment that targeted Doha, Al-Ansari stressed that "Qatar's priority is to maintain its sovereignty and territorial integrity," affirming that his country reserves its legal rights regarding this attack and relies on the guarantees provided to avoid its recurrence.
In a related context, Qatar welcomed the U.S. president's plan to end the war, indicating that what was heard from the U.S. president suggests that the Israeli Prime Minister announced his acceptance of Trump's plan, which is considered a positive step towards de-escalation. Al-Ansari concluded by saying: "The first step in the plan to end the war is consensus among all parties, and we are working to achieve that with all seriousness."
