Nearly 91,000 Students Sit for the General Secondary School Exams Today
SadaNews - The general secondary school exams kick off today, Saturday, as 51,499 students from the West Bank, 37,698 from the Gaza Strip, and 1,941 students from Gaza currently abroad head to the exam halls.
The students are distributed across the branches as follows: 55,751 in the literary branch, 25,349 in the scientific branch, with the remainder in other branches: religious, leadership and business, vocational branches, and professional competency branches.
The spokesperson for the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Sadiq Al-Khodour, confirmed that the ministry has completed its preparations for the general secondary exams, noting that the exams for students in the Gaza Strip will be held entirely electronically, while those for students in the West Bank will be conducted in the usual manner, except for the religious education test scheduled for July 4th, which will be held electronically within the exam halls.
He explained that conducting the religious education exam electronically is part of the government's direction towards electronic education, following the completion of technical readiness and ensuring the reliability of the system.
The ministry indicated that students from the Gaza Strip will take the exams through the "Wise School" software, while 1,941 students who managed to leave the sector will also take the secondary school exam this year, distributed across 46 countries around the world.
It added that if the technical and logistical preparations are completed and the necessary readiness is available, the remaining exams for students from the Gaza Strip will be conducted in the exam halls in person, according to arrangements that will be announced later.
The ministry noted that 65 detainees in the occupation prisons are sitting for the general secondary exams this year.
