Young man from Al-Eisawiya in Jerusalem dies in traffic accident

SadaNews - Young man Youssef Dari from the town of Al-Eisawiya in Jerusalem was killed early Wednesday due to a traffic accident that occurred inside one of the city's tunnels.

Medical teams announced his death upon their arrival at the scene, due to his critical injuries.

The occupation police claimed that investigations into the circumstances of the accident began immediately, involving officers from the Jerusalem police station, along with traffic accident investigators from the Jerusalem district.

While the police were handling the incident, the deceased's family members arrived at the site and attempted to enter the area despite security instructions, prompting efforts to restore order and control the situation, according to what the police spokesperson claimed in a statement to the media.

On Wednesday morning, it was reported that young man Mohammed Abu Shtiah from Umm al-Fahm was killed after an ATV (Quad) overturned in an open area near the city last night.

339 people, including 105 Arab citizens, have died in traffic accidents since the beginning of the year.

According to data and statistics published by the Road Safety Authority in the country, 339 individuals, including 105 Arab citizens, have died in various traffic accidents from the beginning of the current year 2025 until today.

The number of traffic accident victims among Arab citizens in the country has reached 98, including 26 motorcycle riders, since the beginning of the current year 2025 until today.

For comparison, 437 people, including 162 Arab citizens, were killed in traffic accidents during the previous year 2024. Meanwhile, 356 people, including 98 Arab citizens, died in traffic accidents in 2023.

In 2022, 352 people died in traffic accidents, while in 2021, 369 individuals were killed, compared to 306 victims in 2020 and 355 in 2019.

As for victims in the Arab community, 115 Arab citizens were killed in traffic accidents in 2022, 109 in 2021, 99 in 2020, and 110 in 2019.
