Tens of Thousands in the Capital Vienna Demand an End to the Genocide in Gaza and Freedom for Palestine

SadaNews - The Palestinian community in Austria, in collaboration with about 70 Austrian organizations, activists, civil society institutions, and charities, and with the participation of the State of Palestine’s mission to Austria, organized a massive demonstration on Saturday, which was unprecedented and the largest of its kind in terms of public participation.

The event began with a series of speeches at Christian-Broda-Platz and the demonstration marched towards the famous Mariahilfer Street, reaching the Austrian Parliament, where the event concluded in front of the parliament square, with participation from tens of thousands of demonstrators, raising Palestinian flags and signs expressing their rejection of the war on Gaza and condemning the genocide against the Palestinian people, demanding an end to the occupation, and achieving freedom, independence, and recognition of the Palestinian state.

The organizers confirmed that this historic popular movement reflects a profound shift in Austrian and European public opinion regarding the Palestinian issue, as the area of solidarity expands day by day, and the calls for an immediate end to the war and accountability for the perpetrators of crimes are growing.

The chants and slogans repeated by the demonstrators emphasized that Palestine is a humanitarian issue, urging the international community to take urgent action to save civilians in Gaza and stop the ongoing bloodshed.

The demonstration was described as a cry of humanitarian conscience from the heart of Vienna, a clear message to decision-makers that the Palestinian issue is no longer a distant matter, but has become powerfully present in the European street, and that the world’s silence in the face of genocide is no longer acceptable.
