Communication Disruption Isolates 800,000 Palestinians in Gaza City
SadaNews - The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor reported that the Israeli occupation authorities have isolated approximately 800,000 Palestinians in Gaza City from the outside world, after completely severing telecommunications and internet services.
It explained that this measure came in conjunction with the advance of Israeli military vehicles in the northwestern neighborhoods of the city.
It added that the ongoing shelling and destruction of residential towers and communication infrastructure has led to a complete blackout over Gaza, exacerbating the suffering of civilians.
Palestinian telecommunications company announced yesterday that there has been a disruption in fixed internet and landline services in the Gaza and North Gaza governorates.
The company stated that "this interruption is a result of targeting several main supply routes to the area amid the ongoing aggression."
It added: "Our crews are working around the clock to repair the damages amid the dangerous field situation."
