Civil Organizations: A Call to the Arab Islamic Summit to Immediately Cut Relations with the Occupation State and Take Measures to Hold It Accountable
SadaNews: While the Israeli occupation state continues its crime of open and comprehensive extermination for the 23rd consecutive month, the toll of its crimes against unarmed civilians has risen to over two hundred thousand martyrs and injured. It continues to implement the annexation plan and what is called the imposition of sovereignty over the West Bank, as well as the Judaization of occupied Jerusalem and the targeting of its Islamic and Christian sanctities, alongside threats to demolish the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque in preparation for building the alleged Temple. In this context, the Arab Islamic summit convenes today in the Qatari capital, Doha, which was subjected to Israeli aggression days ago that was met with condemnation from world states.
The statement said: We, in the Palestinian Network of Civil Organizations, as this summit convenes amid the circumstances our people face and at the level of the entire region, which is witnessing significant changes, the occupation state is attempting to impose its hegemony and arrogance of power, doing all it does without global movement. Hence, we direct this call to the Arab and Muslim leaders gathered today mere meters away from the building that was targeted by the occupation in aggression against a brotherly state that is a member of the Arab League and the United Nations, threatening the stability of the entire region. We demand your esteemed summit the following:
- To work with a unified Arab Islamic will and take clear decisions to direct Arab efforts to stop the crime of extermination and the bloodbath that the occupation government continues against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, alongside the escalation of comprehensive destruction of towers and buildings, erasing the city of Gaza, and the continuous bombing there. We need to work to break the siege and deliver aid to the people in the Gaza Strip who face the threat of dying from hunger (over 450,000) based on estimates from international institutions.
- To call on the countries of the world with a clear decision from your summit to provide protection for the Palestinian people and to address international bodies with a clear request to activate international tools to ensure the protection of unarmed civilians, especially in the Gaza Strip, under the umbrella of the United Nations and its institutions until the occupation ends over the lands of occupied Palestine.
- To demand Arab and Islamic countries to immediately cut relations with the occupation state and activate the decisions of the Arab summits concerning joint defense agreements (if one Arab country is attacked), given that the occupation state has attacked seven Arab and Islamic countries in one day. This necessitates a comprehensive plan to confront the existential threats posed by the occupation state to the Arab region.
- We demand Arab countries to announce the termination of normalization agreements in all its forms and to cut commercial, economic, security ties and any relation with the occupation state in light of its ongoing war crimes in the occupied Palestinian territories following the blatant aggression in Doha against Arab states.
- We call for actions and to allow Arab people to raise their voices in support of what is happening in Palestine, and to expand the popular Arab movement of parties, unions, and organizations as is happening in the world to raise its voice in solidarity with the victims of daily killings, bombing, destruction, and starvation as practiced by the occupation government in the Palestinian territories.
- We demand the formation of an Arab Islamic legal team that includes experts in international law, specialists, and human rights advocates to follow the legal path of prosecuting and holding the occupation accountable for its crimes, and to provide advice, support, and legal opinions regarding ensuring the prosecution of the occupation leaders and not letting them escape punishment.
