Palestinian flags flutter in Helsingborg, Sweden, in rejection of massacres and the starvation of children in Gaza
SadaNews - Community activities in the Swedish city of Helsingborg organized a massive public march yesterday, Saturday, that traversed the main streets of the city, denouncing the massacres and the war of starvation being perpetrated by Israeli occupation forces against our people in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and Jerusalem, with full support from the United States of America.
Participants in the march raised Palestinian flags and placards demanding an immediate cessation of aggression and the entry of urgent humanitarian aid, including food, water, medicine, and fuel, to save our people from the humanitarian disaster. They also displayed images of children who have fallen victim to the aggression, alongside pictures of the destruction affecting residential buildings and hospitals in the Gaza Strip.
The demonstrators praised the steadfastness of our people and their brave resistance in the face of attempts at forced displacement and the re-enactment of the Nakba of 1948, affirming their rejection of the occupation's plans aimed at liquidating the Palestinian cause and preventing the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
At the conclusion of the march, a member of the city council from the Conservative Party in Helsingborg, Joran Martinson, delivered a speech in which he expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people and their just struggle for freedom and independence, condemning the crimes of the occupation and the genocide being inflicted upon our people. He called on the Swedish government to take urgent action to halt the aggression and to boycott and punish Israel for its crimes, urging the escalation of public movements to pressure decision-makers for practical stances that support the Palestinian people.
Ms. Josefin Lindz from the "Friends of Palestine" group also delivered a speech in which she praised the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and called on the international community to fulfill its responsibilities and pressure the occupying government to stop the ongoing massacres in Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem.
The event concluded with a performance by a number of children titled "Give Us Childhood," along with a theatrical presentation depicting the suffering of the Palestinian people under daily bombardment and aggression.
