Poland: Russia Violated Our Airspace in Its Attack on Ukraine
SadaNews - The Polish Armed Forces announced early Wednesday morning that the country's airspace has been violated "repeatedly" during the Russian attack on Ukraine.
The operational command explained that Russian drones breached the airspace, noting that Polish forces used weapons to shoot them down.
It stated in a post on platform X that Polish and allied military aircraft are currently operating in the skies, while ground-based air defense systems and radar reconnaissance systems have been placed on high alert.
The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration indicated that Poland has closed four airports, including the main Chopin Airport in Warsaw, as well as Jasionka Airport, Modlin Airport in Warsaw, and Lublin Airport.
It clarified that the closure was due to "unplanned military activity related to ensuring state security."
Jasionka Airport is located in southeastern Poland and serves as a key hub for transporting passengers and weapons to Ukraine.
The Ukrainian Air Force previously warned that Russian drones had entered the airspace of Poland, a NATO member, and threatened the city of Zamość, but later removed this statement from the Telegram app.
