Yemeni Armed Forces: We Targeted an Israeli Oil Ship in the Northern Red Sea
SadaNews - The Yemeni armed forces announced this morning, Monday, their responsibility for targeting an Israeli ship in the northern Red Sea with a ballistic missile, confirming that the missile hit the ship directly.
The armed forces stated in a statement that the operation was a revenge for the oppression of the Palestinian people and their mujahideen, and a response to what they described as crimes of genocide and starvation in the Gaza Strip.
They added that the operation confirms the continuation of the ban on Israeli maritime navigation in the Red and Arabian Seas.
The statement clarified that the operation targeted the Israeli oil ship "SCARLET RAY," emphasizing that the Yemeni armed forces will continue to carry out operations against Israeli targets in occupied Palestine and that these operations will not stop until the aggression ends and the blockade on the Palestinian people in Gaza is lifted.
Earlier, the British maritime security company "Ambrey" stated that the targeted ship was flying the Liberian flag and is owned by Israel, confirming that all crew members are fine and that the ship continued its journey.
British maritime organizations also reported an explosion near the ship southwest of the city of Yanbu, Saudi Arabia, while authorities are investigating the incident.
This targeting comes as part of regular attacks carried out by the Houthi group since November 2023, using ballistic missiles and drones against Israeli sites, within the framework of what the group describes as "a response to the ongoing genocide against Gaza."
