Local Government Completes 30 Projects in Roads, Electricity, and Public Services during August

SadaNews - The Ministry of Local Government has completed 30 projects aimed at developing the fields of roads, electricity, public service centers, and improving solid waste management in several local authorities during the current month of August, at a total cost of approximately 28 million shekels.

The ministry clarified in a statement issued today, Sunday, that the projects were implemented in several phases, as part of its ongoing efforts to improve the quality of services and enhance the resilience of citizens in all areas where they are located across the homeland.

These projects, funded by the Palestinian government, the ministry, the Local Authorities Development and Lending Fund, as well as Arab and Islamic funds and friendly donor states, with a self-contribution from the local authorities, aim to facilitate the movement of citizens, serve urban expansion, improve infrastructure, enhance electricity services, and improve waste collection services, reflecting the government's commitment to support the steadfastness of citizens and their establishment on their land.

The key interventions included: rehabilitating and paving several internal and main roads in the towns of: Al-Mutala, Bartaa in Jenin Governorate, Al-Manasheyah, Wadi Fukin, Al-Abidiya, Dar Salah, Beit Sahour, and Tuqu' in Bethlehem Governorate, Beit Kahil, Al-Samou', and Idna in Hebron Governorate, Kafr Abu Ash in Tulkarm Governorate, Salim, Yasaid, Ajnsnia, and Burqa-Beit Amin in Nablus Governorate, and Al-Ram in Jerusalem Governorate.

Regarding the establishment of public service centers: The ministry, through the Local Authorities Development and Lending Fund, has completed 3 new centers in Beit Oar al-Tahta, Al-Taybeh in Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate, and Eastern Baqa in Tulkarm Governorate, in addition to a public service center in Kafr Ni'ma and an office for the Joint Committee for Organization and Construction for the villages of (Al-Janiya, Ras Karkar, Kafr Ni'ma, and Bil'in) funded by the Netherlands, which will serve as a starting point for providing services and addressing the issues and needs of citizens in their transactions.

In terms of electricity, the achievements and interventions included the Beit Amin Electrification project in Nablus Governorate, and the Alar Electricity Line project in Tulkarm Governorate.

Additionally, the ministry delivered 5 solid waste collection vehicles for the benefit of joint service councils in: Jerusalem, Hebron, Bethlehem, Nablus, and Tubas, and provided (800) solid waste containers for the southwestern Ramallah area, which includes 9 local authorities, along with delivering to Beit Anan Municipality in Jerusalem Governorate a service vehicle and a trailer for transporting equipment.

The ministry affirmed that it will continue its work and efforts aimed at empowering local authorities and enhancing their capacities in various planning, organizational, administrative, and technical fields, as well as striving to provide additional financial support and mobilize more funds to implement numerous developmental and growth projects that contribute to enhancing the steadfastness of citizens and their permanence on their land in light of the assaults and practices they face by the occupation forces and settlers.
