New Details About the Suspect in the "Nord Stream" Explosion Revealed by a Former Ukrainian Security Employee

SadaNews - A former Ukrainian security employee revealed that Sergey Kuznetsov, the suspect in the explosion of the "Nord Stream" pipelines, previously served as an officer in the Ukrainian forces and later moved to the military counter-intelligence department of the Ukrainian Security Service.

He indicated that Kuznetsov left military service and transitioned to work in Ukrainian intelligence long before the start of the special military operation.

Brozurov stated, "Sergey Kuznetsov is a former officer of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. He served in Odesa in the 120th Communications Brigade long before he moved to the military counter-intelligence department of the Ukrainian Security Service. It is common practice for military officers to transition to work in military counter-intelligence or special security departments."

Brozurov noted that Kuznetsov served in the seventh directorate of military counter-intelligence, based in Odesa. This directorate oversaw the work of all branches of the Ukrainian Security Service deployed in the Odesa region. There, Kuznetsov worked as a senior field operations officer.

Last Thursday, Italian police arrested Ukrainian citizen Sergey K., 49 years old, in Rimini at the request of the German public prosecutor's office, who is suspected of acting as a coordinator for the explosions of the "Nord Stream" gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea in September 2022.

The German public prosecutor's office confirmed that the aforementioned individual "was part of the group that planted explosives on the gas transport pipelines in the area of Bornholm Island in September 2022." The German prosecutor's office mentioned that Sergey K. was likely the main coordinator of the explosion operation.
