The Presidency Welcomes the Decision of the Uzbek President to Establish a Comprehensive System to Assist Palestinians Residing in Uzbekistan
SadaNews - The Presidency welcomed the decision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to establish a comprehensive system for providing assistance to Palestinian citizens residing in the Republic of Uzbekistan. This includes the establishment of a special republican committee to support the adaptation of Palestinian patients and their companions, as well as a special fund to ensure sustainable care and comprehensive social guarantees for them.
The Presidency praised the Uzbek step, which reflects the important support provided by the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Palestinian people and their just cause on all levels. It appreciated Uzbekistan's principled and historical positions in support of the Palestinian cause, which are based on achieving a two-state solution in accordance with international legitimacy and international law.
The Presidency highly valued this solidarity position, which embodies the historical bonds of friendship that unite the two countries and peoples. This support reflects the commitment of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the principles of international humanitarian law and human rights, and serves as a practical model for how to activate international solidarity, provide protection for those affected by wars, and preserve their human dignity in the face of serious crises that threaten their lives and basic rights. This is especially significant given that one of the tasks of the republican committee is "to support the adaptation of Palestinian patients and their companions, to take the necessary measures to shelter Palestinian guests in temporary housing facilities, to provide necessary medical care and medicines, in addition to involving them in awareness and spiritual programs and purposeful social activities, including activities dedicated to children, as well as proposing practical suggestions to ensure the continuity of support in both the short and long term."
The Presidency also lauded the role of the Palestinian embassy in Uzbekistan and its efforts in following up on the injured and their companions, as well as coordinating with the state to provide the best health and humanitarian services for them.
