Updated: Hamas and Factions Agree to Mediators' Proposal with Mixed Reactions from Israel

SadaNews - Hamas has confirmed that it and the Palestinian factions have agreed to the proposal received from the mediators.

Earlier on Monday evening, corresponding Palestinian sources confirmed that Hamas provided a positive response to the proposal presented to it and the factions by the Egyptian and Qatari mediators.

According to the sources, Hamas's response was given positively and without any amendments, which was later confirmed by Hamas leader Bassem Naeem.

The proposal carries a mix of amendments proposed by Hamas on the last proposal that was being negotiated four weeks ago and the requests that Israel had made regarding the greater deployment of its forces and the number of Palestinian prisoners to be released.

The proposal mainly stipulates a ceasefire for 60 days, alongside the release of 10 Israeli prisoners and 18 other bodies, while aid will be significantly introduced, and the Israeli forces will redeploy according to the agreement from last January and the latest Israeli amendments to the last proposal.

A meeting between Hamas and Egyptian and Qatari officials is scheduled, which includes a meeting between delegations from the factions and the mediators.

Everyone will be waiting for Israel's response to the submitted proposal.

In Israel, reactions have been mixed, with confirmation of receiving the response and that it will be studied.

An Israeli political source stated that Israel's position has not changed... the release of all hostages and compliance with the remaining conditions set for ending the war, as SadaNews translated.

Meanwhile, Channel 12 reported that in recent hours discussions took place between Minister Ron Dermer and White House envoy Steve Witkoff, and between Minister Dermer and the Qatari mediators regarding Hamas's response that was conveyed to Israel, which significantly reduces the gaps between the two sides.

While Channel Reshet Kan reported, according to SadaNews translation, that the new proposal matches Witkoff's original proposal, and the negotiations were conducted with the knowledge and approval of Netanyahu for a partial deal.

It indicated that the mediators informed Israel in recent days that Hamas intends not to make any changes to its response which was submitted after significant pressure from the mediators.

Meanwhile, Netanyahu stated in a brief video that Hamas is under enormous pressure.

Previously, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant stated during a speech from the Gaza Division in the presence of Netanyahu that for the first time Hamas accepts returning to negotiations under the military pressure and the threat we impose, led by the United States. According to SadaNews translation.

He added: The decisions made in the cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister are political and security decisions that link military efforts with political efforts.

He continued: The military effort led by the Israeli army aims to achieve the objectives of the war through the political means currently being advanced with the United States and regional countries.

Meanwhile, National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir stated via X platform that if Netanyahu surrenders to Hamas and ends the war, it will be a crying shame for generations and a loss of a great opportunity... We now have a chance to decisively deal with Hamas, and I tell the Prime Minister: You do not have a mandate to go for a partial deal and not decisively deal with Hamas. He said.

At the same time, Blue and White party leader Benny Gantz tweeted on X platform, directing a message to Netanyahu: We will provide the government with a majority and a safety net for a deal to bring back the hostages, and this is the time to make the right decisions for the people and the security of Israel.
