The official spokesperson for the Egyptian presidency stated that the Qatari Prime Minister conveyed the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, emphasizing the Qatari leadership's commitment to enhancing the frameworks of bilateral cooperation in various fields, based on the importance the Qatari government places on solidifying the relations between the two countries, especially concerning supporting joint investment projects that meet the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples.
For his part, President El-Sisi expressed his deep appreciation for his brother, the Emir of the State of Qatar, stressing the mutual will to elevate the bilateral relations to broader horizons, in line with the aspirations of the two peoples and in response to the current regional and international challenges.
Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, the official spokesperson, added that the meeting emphasized the utmost importance that Egypt and Qatar attach to their ongoing efforts, in coordination with the United States, to reach an agreement that ensures an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, allows for urgent and unhindered humanitarian aid, and the release of hostages and prisoners, affirming a decisive rejection of the military occupation of the Strip and any attempts to displace Palestinians from their land.
Both El-Sisi and the Qatari Prime Minister emphasized that establishing an independent Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital, according to international legitimacy resolutions, represents the only way to achieve lasting peace and stability in the Middle East. In this context, the President stressed the need to immediately initiate the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip following the ceasefire and to prepare for holding the Cairo International Reconstruction Conference, in cooperation with the Palestinian government and the United Nations.
The official spokesperson mentioned that the meeting witnessed an agreement on the importance of intensifying joint efforts to find political and peaceful solutions to the crises facing some countries in the region, while emphasizing respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of those countries, and the necessity of continuing consultation and coordination between Egypt and Qatar in a way that serves their common interests and enhances regional security and stability.
