Russia condemns the Israeli decision to reoccupy the Gaza Strip and warns of its repercussions
SadaNews: The Russian Foreign Ministry condemned the Israeli decision to reoccupy the Gaza Strip and warned of its repercussions.
The ministry stated in a statement that the implementation of such decisions and plans, which provoke condemnation and rejection, could exacerbate the already dramatic situation on the Palestinian side, which now bears all the characteristics of a humanitarian disaster, significantly complicating international efforts aimed at de-escalation in the conflict zone, with potentially negative and serious consequences for the entire Middle East region.
Russia affirmed its firm position on the necessity of an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the release of all hostages and detainees, and the restoration of unobstructed humanitarian access.
It emphasized that Moscow is firmly convinced that there is no alternative to settling the Palestinian issue based on recognized principles of international law, at the heart of which is the two-state solution principle, which stipulates the establishment of an independent Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, living in peace and security alongside Israel.
