Jericho and the Jordan Valley Governor: 41 cases of poisoning at a tourist resort, the incident is accidental and has been controlled
SadaNews - The Governor of Jericho and the Jordan Valley, Dr. Hussein Hamayel, announced in a special statement to "Rayhan Radio and Television" that 41 cases of food poisoning were recorded last night at a tourist resort in the governorate, confirming that all cases were handled at Jericho Government Hospital and discharged after receiving treatment, except for two cases that are still under medical observation for follow-up treatment.
Hamayel explained that medical teams were mobilized immediately upon receiving the report, alongside the public safety committee in the governorate, where urgent action was taken to investigate the causes of the poisoning and monitor the health condition of the affected individuals.
Hamayel confirmed that the incident was accidental and was controlled professionally and with a high degree of expertise, noting that no critical cases had been recorded, which calls for reassurance and avoids panic among citizens.
He stressed that tourist resorts, hotels, and restaurants in Jericho are subject to strict health inspection by the relevant authorities, while also confirming that necessary legal actions will be taken against any party found negligent in complying with health standards.
The governor concluded his statement by inviting citizens and visitors to continue visiting the city of Jericho and enjoy what it offers in terms of resorts, hotels, and archaeological and tourist facilities, confirming that the city is safe and has continuous health oversight ensuring the safety of visitors and citizens.
